The Library Media Center, located on the second and third floors of the Bill H. Hill Library Building in the center of campus, is truly a hub for information, technology, research and pleasure reading for Eastern students and staff. The library's collection has over 38,000 books in open stacks, and it subscribes to over 200 magazines and newspapers available to students in a comfortable reading area. The collection features an impressive number of materials concerning Native American culture and history.
When doing research, students have access to several online indexes linked below. Students who do not have a computer or reliable access to the internet can use the Library’s computer lab. Since the Library's card catalog is fully automated, research is easy.
The media center has a cultural lab with an interesting collection of art, most from former Eastern students. Some of the artists include Merlin Littlethunder, Connie Seabourn, Susan Thomas Reed, Teresa Terrell, Pam Kirkes and Anita Caldwell Jackson.
The library staff is eager to help students at any time.
Students who do not have a computer or reliable access to the internet can make an appointment for Honorlock exam proctoring, a web-based remote test proctoring service. More Honorlock information is available on the Exam Proctoring webpage.
Eastern Oklahoma State College does have limited proctoring appointments available for non-EOSC students who would like to have a test proctored on campus. This testing may include exams for other academic institutions; employment advancements (i.e. dental hygienist or food service safety); homeschooled students; or any exam where a proctor may be needed.
Eastern retains the right to deny anyone the utilization of proctoring services.
There is a $10 fee per test for non-EOSC students. After scheduling your appointment, submit payment online.
Test proctoring appointments are available on a limited basis and must start at least two hours before the library closing time. Complete the Exam Proctoring Form to request an appointment for testing.
For more information or to ask questions about test proctoring, send a message to library@eosc.edu or contact Maria Martinez at 918-465-1711.

During its early years as a mining school, EOSC printed the "Oklahoma Miner" with student and school news. The third issue was dated December 25, 1916, and it was published every two weeks. In 1932, a new student newspaper was established and titled the "Mountaineer," which offered stories on campus activities, faculty news, sports, and student government, along with advertising from Wilburton, McAlester, Hartshorne, and Idabel. The "Mountaineer" was published monthly or bi-monthly during the regular school year. In 1960, it won the Best All-Around Oklahoma Junior College Newspaper Award from the Oklahoma Collegiate Press Association. In January 1961, the school’s name was added to the publication’s title: the "Eastern A&M Mountaineer." With the final change in the institution’s name in 1967, the paper also received its final title change to the "Eastern Statesman." The print edition continued into the 2018-2019 school year as a member of the Oklahoma Collegiate Press Association, the Community College Journalism Association, the Student Press Law Center, and the Oklahoma Interscholastic Press Association. By 2021-2022, the publication shifted to online only where it provides local stories, campus news, sports, and entertainment.
