The Division of Behavioral and Social Sciences offers associate degrees (AA and AS) that prepare graduates for transfer into bachelor's degree programs at other colleges and universities. The Behavioral and Social Sciences Division has an AS degree program in Criminal Justice which is designed for either transfer or immediate employment in the field. The Division of Health Sciences offers two associate of applied science degree programs: a nursing degree available in Wilburton, McAlester and Idabel and a respiratory therapy degree in McAlester. Students who complete the nursing degree are eligible to take the examinations necessary to qualify for licensure as a Registered Nurse (subject to OBN regulations). There is an accelerated track available for students who are Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) or Paramedics (EMT-P). Graduation from the respiratory therapy program ensures eligibility to take national certification and registry exams by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
