The Residual ACT test is an acceptable alternative to the National ACT for students who plan to attend Eastern. The scores from these tests are acceptable for admission only at Eastern. The Residual ACT is offered at both the Wilburton and McAlester campuses. Students must apply for admission to Eastern and obtain their Student ID number before taking their test. Students must pre-register online for the Residual ACT and bring the $75 registration fee to the testing room.

The SAT Test is a standardized test widely used for college admissions. The test is intended to assess a student's readiness for college curriculum. The test consists of two sections: Mathematics and Critical Reading and Writing, with an optional essay section. The test takes three hours to complete plus 50 minutes for the essay. Possible scores on the SAT range from 400 to 1600.
Students must register for the SAT online. Practice tests and test-taking information is available at student.collegeboard.org.
On the test day, students are required to check in on the first floor of the E.E. Tourtellotte Student Center with their photo ID and registration ticket, and will proceed to room 224 together. The test begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. An approved calculator is recommended.
The ACCUPLACER Test is a placement test consisting of three areas: reading, writing and math. AAF is Advanced Algebra and Functions and QAS is for Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra and Statistics. The test may be taken all together or one area at a time.
ACCUPLACER study preparation and practice questions are available on the College Board website.
The first test for each subject area is free for current Eastern students and prospective students preparing to enroll. Additional tests are $5 each. Visit our online payment portal to purchase an additional ACCUPLACER test.
If testing at Eastern remotely for a different college, an additional $25 fee will be assessed. On test day students must present the issued voucher number along with a valid form of identification.
Students who do not achieve a placement score on the initial test will be given a chance to retest in two weeks (14 days) from their initial test date. Before the retest date, students should study for each test subject. It is recommended to allow for at least one week of practice for each test subject. In addition to the available practice materials, students should review the test descriptions found on the ACCUPLACER website to further enhance their understanding of what to expect on the test. A student who does not achieve the desired course placement score after the second test may test for the third time three months (90 days) after their first retest. A student who does not achieve the desired course placement score after the third test may retest four weeks (30 days) from the third test. This applies to subsequent retests.
CLEP testing is offered by appointment only. Students wishing to take the CLEP test must fill out the EOSC CLEP Test Application (pdf) and submit it along with a $25 non-refundable test administration fee per test. Once the application and fee have been received, the student will need to contact the Testing Center to set up a testing date and time. CLEP charges a $95 fee for each test in addition to the $25 administration fee. Students must register for a CLEP exam and pay the exam fee through "My Account" on the CLEP website. Students must print their registration ticket to present to the EOSC Testing Center on test day.
